Overview of the Malta CBI Program

Established in 1984, the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Program is the world’s longest-standing economic citizenship initiative. It offers investors and their families the opportunity to obtain citizenship through significant economic contributions, providing a pathway to enhanced global mobility and business opportunities.

The Citizenship-By-Investment Program

The program requires applicants to make a substantial economic contribution to the nation, which, upon successful completion of a comprehensive application process—including thorough background checks—grants full citizenship. Applicants can choose between a non-refundable contribution to the Sustainable Island State Contribution (SISC) or an investment in an Approved Public Benefit Project. The program is designed to support national development while offering investors the benefits of citizenship.

The Country

St. Kitts and Nevis, a dual-island nation in the Caribbean, is renowned for its pristine beaches, lush landscapes, and rich cultural heritage influenced by African, British, Carib, and French traditions. As a member of the Commonwealth, it provides citizens with certain privileges in the UK and other Commonwealth countries. The nation’s strategic location offers excellent air links to Europe and North America, making it an attractive destination for a second home and international business ventures.

Processing Times

The application process typically takes between 3 to 6 months from submission to approval. This includes the time required for due diligence, investment completion, and processing by the Citizenship by Investment Unit. Upon approval, applicants receive a Certificate of Registration, which confers citizenship status and entitles them to apply for a St. Kitts and Nevis passport.

Application Process

The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) oversees the application process, which includes:

  • Submission of all required documents through an authorized service provider.
  • Background checks conducted by independent professional firms.
  • A mandatory interview for the main applicant and dependents over 16 years of age, conducted virtually or in person.

  • USD $50,000 for each additional dependent over 18 years of age.
  • USD $25,000 for each additional dependent under 18 years of age.

.

Investment Option 2: Approved Public Benefit Project

This option involves a minimum non-refundable contribution of USD $250,000 to an approved project that promotes national development, such as infrastructure or public services projects.

Investment Option 3: Real Estate Investment
